YOUR NEW EYES… IT IS CALLED THE HEART

26062011446-2New Vision
My eyes is growing weaker
So much better to see with my heart
The folly and beauty that is you,
The comedy and tragedy that is you,
The cold winter in your words,
The warm summer in your embrace,
The rising cry in your surprise,
The tide rising in your eyes.
……….

Growing old has its plus points. For one thing, by sheer usage, fair wear and tear, the physical faculties that the Lord has endowed you will have run their warranty period. You don’t hear so good, you don’t walk so well and often your eyes will often ask you, “Hey! What thaaat?!

beautifulhorizon1Without your physical crutches, you shall have to rely more on your spiritual senses as they, Godwilling, develop and sharpen. Thus may you see with your heart a quintillion times better than how your eyes had once perceived the world and people. But more importantly, your heart shall look inwards, towards your soul that is despairing for the answers, asking, “Who am I? Who are you?

You will cry more, my love, but your smile and laughter will be richer. For you know that your caravan of love is nearing the last valley, crossing the very last river, towards the Horizon of Divine Presence of Allah Almighty and His Beloved Muhammad Sayyidina Mu’ammil (sws), the Hoped For encounter of all Saliqas (seekers).

“And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before.”
(Holy Quran 93:4, transliteration Shakir)

FROM BEAUTY WITH BEAUTY TO YOU – the Prophet of Islam sws

Beauty wacomTHE BEAUTIFUL PROPHET
Beauty sent
His Prophet of Beauty
To declare His Beauty
Through His Beautiful Book
And His Beautiful Prophet
Through his words and deeds
That are always beautiful,

Thus, if the Prophet assures you
He assures you beautifully,
If he reminds you
He reminds you beautifully,
Even if he admonishes you,
His admonishments sounds
More beautiful to you
Than the most lavish
Praise anyone can give you!

The Prophet of Beauty
Comes from Beauty
With Beauty…

The Holy Quran. Many times, I cannot understand what the Imam is reciting, but boy, the words sound heavenly and we are blessed with an Imam with a fine memory and finer voice.

And that is it. Perhaps the quranic verse being spoken is actually a stern warning from the Almighty to us, but ya Allah, how beautiful are Your words!

The Beautiful Prophet. Thus, when the wife of the Prophet, our Lady Aisyah (ra) said that the Prophet was the walking embodiment of the Quran, is it any surprise that everything he said and did was infused with beauty and expressed and performed beautifully? And mercifully?

Salaam Maulidur Rasul, sunshine, on this blessed month of Rabi ul Awwal, our Nabi Muhammad (sws) was born. And on this day many centuries ago, the pillars of lies and the palaces of corruption and tyranny on Earth shook and trembled in fear, while the poor, the oppressed, the seeker of Allah swt, the beautiful souls and all the truth sayers rejoiced!

Don’t you agree, my love?

THE ZEN OF IRON … between supernovae, faith and black magic

metals1The Zen of Iron
The molten iron filling into the mould
Asks no questions as to the form
It is taking.
……

Explosion of planet or starSUPERNOVAE. Do you know that not a single atom of iron can be produced by any natural event on this spaceship Earth? Yeah, every single atom of iron in whatever form it is in, many, many, many eons ago was born in the super hot centre of a star, just prior to the star perishing in a supernova explosion, scattering radioactive nickel (nickel-56, which decays into the most common isotope of iron) across the universe.

Iron is the most common element on Earth, forming a large part of the Earth’s outer and inner core, and the fourth most common element on the planetary outer crust (courtesy of Wikipedia), it is therefore not surprising that iron also exists in large amounts within bio organisms. And when you escape out into space, there is no escaping iron, for the terrifying meteorites flying perilously close to your spaceship are also made out of predominantly iron and nickel, in a very dense mass. That is why a meteorite will be a lot heavier than a similar-sized rock or stone.

IRON & ISLAM. The close relationship of the element iron in islam is exemplified by the 57th surah (chapter) of the Holy Quran being named as surah al-Hadid (The Iron). It is not a very long chapter, totalling only 29 verses. But in the oft-quoted 4th and 25th verses of the chapter, the celestial origin of iron is elaborated, many centuries before modern scientific understanding of iron;

“He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah sees well all that ye do.” (al-Quran 57:4, Yusuf Ali)

“We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will).” (al-Quran 57:25, Yusuf Ali)

BLACK MAGIC. Iron forms an important part of our diet, an indeed it is present in almost all living organisms (Wikipedia). It is used as tools, cutleries and ultimately as weapons and defence not only against physical attacks but also metaphysical interferences through black magic and the use of djinns.suit_of_armo_27358_md

May we be guided to remembrance and fealty to our Lord and His Messenger. Like iron, our origin is far, indeed much further than the most distant supernovae that created the element of iron in the universe. For even the furthest stars at the edge of the universe are still within the territory of this physical ego-centric world, while our origin and our home is in a wholly separate plane of ‘existence’. Perhaps in the hereafter we shall have no further need for the worldly raiments and accessories made of iron. But until such day comes to pass when we leave our physical bodies, iron will undoubtedly continue to play a key part in our every day life.

Love, religion, compulsion and acceptance… but Hu is actually speaking?

IMGReligion of Love
There is no compulsion in love…
Even though your mind may be taught,
Your conscience may be pricked
And your experiences persuasive,
But it will count for nothing
If your heart is not accepting.

And much like love,
There is no compulsion in religion.
…………….

“There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower.”   (the Holy Quran 2:256, Pickthall)

LOVE MUST BE OF THE WILLING. I cannot force love, can I? I can create conditions which nurture the possibility of love, yes. But not the certainty of love. Certainty in love comes when I am in Love, when I am with Love and I feel loved by Love. And the secret formula for that is with God.

20150804123718_resizedACCEPTANCE IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. You cannot force religion too. This is religion understood at a higher plane. Not merely a system of rules, of rights and wrongs. By accepting the tenets of the religion, I will engender an inclination towards the religion, but really that is all. At this point I am merely inclining to the way of the al Quran and the Sunnah (traditions of the Prophet (saws)). Because acceptance is actually a blessing and an affirmation to me from God, not by my own self-blessing in proclaiming to the witnessing Angels, “Yea! Verily I declare You are God, o’ Lord!” That would be like me imagining myself falling into the sea and declaring, “Oh yes! The sea is wet!” I am just making a supposition there, an intellectual exercise. The acceptance of Islam may begin with reasoning, but it is Allah’s acceptance that is the key. And there is no human vanity nor reason that can encompass His Will. That is why, happily, God gives the assurance to us that He has forbidden upon Himself to be unjust or oppressive.

“O My servants! I have forbidden oppression for Myself, and I have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are astray except those whom I have guided, so seek guidance from Me and I shall guide you…”
(Sayings of the Prophet, with the authority of Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari)

Which is good for us, I guess.,, considering how undeserving we actually are, often unjust and oppressive towards others, and certainly towards ourselves. So have we done enough? Have we fought against injustice, have we helped the oppressed and the persecuted? You know the answer… it is blowing in the wind.

Camera 360I am a Muslim, I hear myself say sometimes. But it is merely an echo across a vast chasm of my errors and wickedness. I need Allah (swt) to confirm it, and I need my beloved Prophet(saws) to say it. Who am I to say what I am? Only Allah knows best and only He may guide us to the Master of Guides – our Nabi Muhammad Habibullah (saws). So pray for me, sunshine…
